Beef vegetable stew

1T salad oil
1.5 lbs stewing beef cut into 1" cubes
1c sliced red onion
4c water
2T beef seasoning
3t salt
white pepper to taste
1 bay leaf
1 can tomatoes (1 lb tomatoes)
1 can or 1 lb green beans
1 cup squash sliced
1 cup red bell pepper diced
5 cups cabbage coarsely shredded
2T splenda

Heat oil in skillet.
Add meat and brown evenly.
Add onion and cook until tender.
Add 2 cups water,
beef seasoning,
2 teaspoons salt, pepper
and bay leaf.
Cover and simmer for 1.5 hours.
Add tomatoes, green beans, squash, bell pepper, cabbage and splenda.
Cook until all veggies are tender, about 10 minutes.
