chili

1 lb. lean ground beef
1 lg. onion chopped.
1 green (or red, or yellow) pepper, chopped
chili
8 oz mushrooms chopped roughly into 1/2" pieces
1 container firm tofu (not sure of size) cut into cubes approx 1/2"
1 large can crushed tomatoes
1 small can tomatoe paste
2 tbsp chili powder
2 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp curry powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1/8 tsp ground allspice
Optional: Shredded cheese

1. Brown ground beef, crumbling as it cooks.
When the beef is browned, add onions, peppers, mushrooms and tofu.
Cook until onion is transparent.

2. Add crushed tomatoes and tomatoe paste.
Stir till tomato paste evenly distributed through sauce.
Add spice and stir till mixed in.
Bring to gentle boil.
Lower heat and simmer over low heat for at least 10-15 minutes so flavors blend.

3. Serve with shredded cheese on top of chili.
